Hi.. I'm new here.. I believe I'm posting to the right forum field
I got excited and purchased a RadioShack Pro-2052 not to crazy
about it.. I should have got the Uniden I had eyes on.. no LTR is
killing me.. I'm pretty much getting into this.. guess I can be glad
it's a major step up from my Uniden BC 142XL.. and if it is a good
deal like the reviews said (failed to notice how old they were) I
guess I can settle... The scanner is giving the same transmissions
on most all of the freguencies programmed.. I don't know what
I'm over looking.. I tried stuff in the software.. changed settings
time and time again.. used the data feature.. and reset the scanner
hoping for the best... no luck.. could this be a defect?.. If this is
part of normal operation then I made a mistake getting it in the
firstplace.. also double checked priority settings... but most of all
I resest the scanner same trouble.. manually put freqs on I'm so
upset that I can't believe I purchased this junk if this is normal
operation..

TIA.. Joe

During conventional scan I should add...

Transmissions ... guess that's not the right word?

basicly........... most all of the frequences programmed in channels are receiving
what 1 channel is asigned.. umm say I have 000.0001 on channel 6....... and have
000.0035 on channel 2 along side severel other frequencies... the channel 6 recieve
is accepted in most all other frequencies.. channel 2, 4 , 5 , 9, 14, 19, 35... is all
the same... no matter what combination of frequencies I program.. the one frequency
is picked up on all other chaneels with differn't frequencies

no priority, alert, etc..
have reset and manually entered

What I'm saying nearly all the channels are the same.. reguadless of freq.. I hear 1
channel on all chanels basicly..

after reseting I haven't use no software... in the first place I used RadioCommander
a couple times.. I don't know how long the problem has been active.. I just happend
to notice once I was using it.. and getting the same crap on all the channels this is
agravating... I reset and put in freqs. and did not put the one that is the problem and
it still exists.. to name a few

The Freq in question is
154.8450

and it interupts into these to name a few

154.6500
155.1600
151.3100
153.8750
160.1400
154.6550
155.4900
159.0450
155.4755
155.3700
155.0450

these freqs work the way they're suposed to but is bound to be taken over
by the freq. in question...... (sometiems I hear two dispatches same ch.)
well maybe it would be better to say interupted rather than taken over

what could be an issue here? idaes?

It appears you may have priority on. Manually select 154.8450. If PRI is next to MANUAL on the bottom line then press PRIORITY. This will turn it off. Then press SCAN.

You may have an issue with the 154.8450 frequency being from a near and powerful transmitter that is overloading/bleeding into other near band frequencies. Does the content from that frequency seem to be mixing with other activity and hence showing up at those other frequencies?

yes jpryor ...this came to mind.. but I didn't think it would happen.. it just seems it did not do this when I first got it......... it is the closest frequency of all least it seems that way.. it's the local PD probably less than a mile away... it is doing exactly that bleeding into most all of the freqs. that are close in the band.. is there a fix.. is there any thing/way to tweak it out?..

TIA Joe

I've noticed that some radios are more prone to that type of interference. I have similiar issues with my Pro 2052 that don't occur as bad with other radios. Have you changed the location or antenna in use by the radio? You could possibly put a narrow notch filter in between the antenna and radio to knock down the interference. Check at www.parelectronics.com as they can build custom filters for a particular frequency, but their solution may be too wide and impact other frequencies that you still want to hear.
