Does anyone know where I can get my Pro-2096 tuned up in Ft Collins, Loveland or Greeley area that does good work that has the tools and generator to do it?

here is an old thread about if you're trying to get it to receive 700 you are out of luck

The Weld County Simulcast site uses 800 MHz frequencies so the PRO-2096 is OK. However, there may be a simulcast distortion issue depending upon the OP's location. The PRO-96 sometimes had problems receiving P25 systems. Adjusting VR4 inside the scanner frequently solved the problem. I believe the comparable adjustment in the PRO-2096 is VR3.

OK, just checking that you know how this works.
i usually tell folks to manually put in trunked frequencies as conventional. to make sure you can receive the system.
and if the system fails you need them in that way to hear the system as it turns into stand alone repeaters.
so you could try that just put in all the frequencies.

wtp, you might understand this I don't, but I just put my Pr0-197 in the other room with my 2096 and on the 197 I got a good 5 bars & the 2096 I got nothing on 853.3125 this is the one they use. 197 had N5AE W:BEE00 94-99%. top of the scanner 5 signal bars 197 TS-1840 P25 AU 1. Weld County TS-1830 P25 AU 1.

Pro-2096 SY5AE TO524 and at the bottom it reads Mot: 14440, 64668, 18832, 16556, 35024 and a bunch of other numbers flashing one at a time. I will try like you said and put the other A channels and I will let you know if any worked. Thanks, Don

same frequency and different locations points to simulcast problems.
you can be miles away, but the radio can 'hear' another tower or more.
that is the simulcast problem.
you as a human can understand a small phase shift or echo, a radio can not.
so hheelllloo sounds like and is hello.
but to a radio that understands binary.
11001010 now looks like 1l1l0o0o1l0o1l0o and the radio can't figure it out and gets quiet.
it also means you found the sweet spot, keep the radio there.
also conventional programming will NOT fix simulcast problems, it is just a way to make sure you can hear it.

In your programming software, what is your Bank Type and is 3600 and 9600 Motorola Band Plan set to Normal or Standard? Is the Mode for control channel frequencies set to MOT?

What options do you have available for 3600 and 9600 in your software? What is your System or Bank Type and what options are available? Are your frequencies setup for a trunked system and what options are available? I believe you are using Win96. I use ARC96 and the nomenclature may be different.

both are check normal 3600 & 9600, they are set to Mot.
It sounds like your scanner is setup correctly. I just checked the Baltimore City P25 system which also uses 800 MHz rebanded frequencies and it works OK with 3600 and 9600 set to Normal. Your next step would be to try adjusting VR3 inside the scanner for the best decode.

The 2096 is a model that is quite old and only has 800 MHz capability.

The control channel for 800 simulcast is constant 853.3125.

The 800 system is simulcast and the radio is likely not able to cope with it. I have a PRO-96 that is
of the same vintage that chokes on being able to track this site and I have full scale signal at my location.

You might try the Nunn site with a control channel on 853.375. If the radio cannot lock on to this site then
the ability to monitor the FRCC system is not possible.

I would venture that you are able to track DTRS with this radio?
