Need more details. Does it appear to be scanning? Which systems and agencies are you trying to monitor? If it appears to be scanning, and stopping on frequencies and talkgoups, Try an earpiece or headphones. Check your squelch setting. Does it receive NOAA weather?

it scans...was working fine then stopped receiving and does not stop on anything, and squelch is fine...I remember somewhere a setting inside the radio something about a T1 and T2..maybe about sensitivity

I still need more details. Does the scanner receive NOAA weather? which systems and agencies are you trying to monitor? Did it stop receiving a P25 800 MHz trunked system?

What are you using for an antenna, the stock telescopic that came with the scanner? Are you monitoring from within a fixed structure or are you mobile in a car? If the former, try locating the unit close to a window away from any potential sources of electromagnetic interference. If still unable to pick up local comms, let us know if you can pick up NOAA

it has an 800MHz antennae.....with a regular rubber duckie antennae it will pick up NOAA

i think i see the problem.
can you google simulcast problems.
the only scanners that can handle that all the time are the uniden SDS100 and SDS200.
or try and find the sweet spot wherever it was.

Can you please provide specific systems/agencies like you were asked to do in posts #2 and #5?
The PRO-96 and PRO-2096 had a problem that the frequency would drift and stop receiving 800 MHz P25 systems. To compensate for that you needed to adjust VR4 in the PRO-96 and I believe VR3 in the PRO-2096.

Do you have programming software? I have ARC96. If you have the original programming in a file, try reprogramming the scanner. You may have done something like locking out the control channel frequency.

simulcast is where the county broadcasts on a number of towers and on the same frequency at the same time.
many radios have a problem with that.
as a human you can listen to and understand a little echo in a voice.
but for a computer that should 'hear' 11001010 in a certain amount of time the echo is then1l1l0o0o1l0o1l0o' and the radio can do anything from actually get it right ot total silence, in my county the other radio get 1/4 second of sound and then 1/4 second of silence.
try getting close to one of the towers or just moving the radio around the house to see IF you can find a sweet spot.
