Now that I am getting the hang of importing talk groups using Excel and CSV formatted text files into EZ-Scan, (using data that I cut and pasted from RR). I am finally hearing live audio. However I can't seem to get clean audio. Its choppy etc sounds like a high BER audio sounds. Does anyone have any ideas on what I need to do now to get this radio sounding as good as it does when receiving conventional AM or FMn signals? Setting the squelch does not seem to help. I am using an RS PRO-668 with Whistler F/W. Are there any additional settings?

As asked in your other post, what system are you talking about? Also, why are you wasting the time creating a spreadsheet to enter this when the EZ Scan database has the exact same information, updated weekly, that will properly load the system in your scanner?

So apparently you answered your own question in the other forum.

Ok so I know what this subsection of RR isn't. As I said, before you jumped on board I will try to stay in my lane. Your suggestion about simulcast WAS in fact helpful. I think that may be the problem I am having.

As it says in the WIKI
Most current generation digital scanners do a poor job of handling simulcast APCO Project 25 systems. Quadrature Phase shift Keying

Because I ahve been using Excel for decades to sort PLC tagname databases for use in industrial controls and GUI's. And prefer this method. Alsoo because Whistler site is still doing the 11001 thing and I gave up dealing with it,

I agree, if that radio just does not work on simulcast which is a well-known fact, as a Whistler radio, why would it work on simulcast if it was rebranded as a Radio Shack radio.

Except when it comes to where to post questions. Moved to the Radio Shack forum.
Just for clarification, @KevinC , OP said it was a PRO-668 with Whistler Legacy Upgrade ("Whistler F/W") is the best spot for that the Radio Shack or Whistler forums?

Good question. Frankenscanners are a gray area. Since we know what the root cause is I think we'll leave it here for now.
