Is there any FREE software programs on the internet for the 95? I know the dang cable will probably cost $30.

edit / I don't have a port in my computer that would work for that cable. I would have to get an USB to scanner cable.

I've been drilling the net for days looking for Apple/Mac software to use with the RS scanner and the cable. Is the only way to use Virtual PC and run an old Win95 program? What about some software for Win XP?

Any other MAC users out there?

I used to run macs, I love them. But it was the computer control/programming of radios that forced me to get a PC. You're going down a lonely road trying to find mac support for just about anything radio. It sucks, but that's been my experience with it.

PRO 95

I heard that the PRO 95 is being discontinued as of what Radio Shack told me. I'm thinking of purchasing the PRO 95 for my birthday in June. I hope it will be still available in May. But if it's not I will be thinking of purchasing the PRO 2051 to upgrade my PRO 92.

If its not available in your local store, have the mgr do a district view and then go to that store and buy it. Once it goes disco, they won't order it into the store anymore.

Two ways:
By pressing F5 while looking at the price lookup screen on the RSS

or

By checking product availability on RadioShack online

Your going to have to get a USB port replicator because they don't have a USB to scanner cable.
