What are good programs for computers, or GUI programs, that work with my computer and my PRO-95 Scanner. I already have Radio Shack's cable. Just wondering. Oh...i already have WIN95. Nice program, but what else is out there?
The cable you have from radio shack, is it black or grey?
The black cable does not work with the pro95.
As Dubbin stated, there isn't any better program than Win95.
Just a note,

Lets make this a little easier. The cable is Radio Shack Cat #20-289. If you have that one then it will work. Also some of the ICOM and Yaesu cables will work (I have used all 3). I think Win95 is the only software that you are going to find for the PRO-95 so that really narrows down your search
Scancat lite also will program the Pro95 and other radio shack scanners. I prefer Win95, but there are alternatives. Also you can buy the cable from www.greamerica.com for $14.95 and save money. GRE makes the scanner.
The software page at Strong Signals is an excellant resource for tracking things like this. However it sounds like you want to be able to do more with the 95 than up/downloading. Sorry, but with the exception of the PRO2052 (which is, I believe, a Uniden product in GRE clothing), the PRO9x series cannot be controlled by a PC. It's just not in the firmware.
Al I think we should be a bit more clear here - You certainly can program a trunk system to be tracked on the 95 with a PC, but to use something to display that info on a screen just can't be done without installing a discriminator tap and running a utility like Trunker. It's just not in the firmware to do.
And as for other packages that do the programming - apart from Win95 and Scancat Lite Plus, the only other package that supposedly works - I haven't heard much about it, so I can't say how well it supports the 95- is Signal Intelligence's new Trunkstar Pro. AFAIK, that's about it.
