The good thing about the PRO-96 is that it receives digital broadcasts. The bad thing about it is the cost $499.95, Ouch! 8)

I am considering purchase of the pro-96.... :D

The V folders alone makes the PRO-96 worth its weight in gold.

Save your pennies until you can afford it. Thats the best "time payment" you can get.

Here is something you can do.
Go start a savings account at one of the banks near you. Start putting money in it and when you get to the amount you need draw it out and buy your scanner. This will stop you having to pay extra on one of the lay away plans.

Just make sure to get one of the super savings accunts that are usually free and require little to no deposit and have no penalties for low balances.
Has always worked for me.

Of course you could just send me whatever money you want and ill keep it till you make enough to get the 96 then ill buy it for you. Hel I tell ya what, ill even program and listen to it for you.
Ill email you and let you know whats going on lol.

I do plan on buying either a PRO-96 or a BC296D. I'm still looking at the pros and cons of both receivers.

Early part of summer or when the new uniden digital model hits shelves the 296 should come down in price.

ONE QUESTION (for now at least). Sounds like a lot of people here are familiar with the 95. How can I get to an ID QUICKLY? Example / I'm scanning 3 banks and want to get to bank one, sub bank two, ID 13. With my Pro 94, I can get to a talkgroup as fast as the actual user.
