Pro-96 backlight

Is there any way to make the backlight stay on and not shut off on the pro-96?

Press and hold it for a few seconds. It will beep and the backlight will stay on.

Press the light button until it beeps. It will stay on until you shut the radio off.

Try holding the "light" button on until it beeps.

My pro-96 does not beep when I turn the back light on. Did I turn it off with win96 or is it just a problem with my scanner.

It won't beep if you have the keypad beep disabled. Or if you don't hold it long enough...you have to press it for at least a few seconds to make it stay on.

To disable the light, you turn off the unit or press the light button.
