I have had my PRO-96 for about 1 1/2 years and lately it has been getting a little warm on the right side of the scanner to the point that the rubber grip on the right side came off. So I opened it up immediatly after using it and I found that the heat appears to be coming from the metal square box (has a removable metal cover that felt reasonably warm to the touch). So I popped the metal cover off and confirmed the heat was coming from in there. How hot is this area supposed to get?
I am using a radio shack adapter with proper voltage.
Is there a component inside that I can immediatly blame for this over heating? Or could this problem be caused by any number of things? I have never had any of my scanners repaired before. Roughly what am I going to have to pay to get this repaired. I already payed $500 for it. How much more do I have to spend on it?
All though it probably has nothing to do with my problem I thought I would mention this over heating started after using the ARC's 30 day trial version a week ago.
