I had faith in you and after sleeping on it overnight, IT WORKED!!! I don't know if I was doing something wrong, and with 3 simple key strokes I don't see how I was, but ya never know. Anyway, I did it first thing this morning (wed) and it appears to work and now it is "stuck" with the display I was used to. I must have hit the other sequence of buttons to get it where I didn't want it while trying to do 3 other things when I should have been concentrating on the task at hand. I have turned it ON and OFF several times this morning just to make sure it stuck and it is just where it should be. Thanks so much for your help. You definitely have more patients and insight than I do on this one for sure. Like I had said, that Win 96 looked complicated, and on top of that, my cable that would have been used to program the scanner I never got to use, because the software for the cable would not load. It was just one thing after another. Now when I am scanning and see the numbers, I just hit the trunk button and as the numbers accumulate, I go add text tags to it and to keep the 2096 updated with the 96 I clone the 96 over to the 2096. You might say I take the 96 out into the field and gather updates, then transfer them to the 2096. Thank you so much for your help and patients....I used to live there in Tacoma and flew out of McChord Air Force Base for 4 years and there are definitely some things I miss about the area...Take care...Dave
