pro 96 reception issues

I have a pro 96 scanner that only gets semi good reception when it is on a window sill in my house for Montco. I use to be able to hear bucks, chester and penn turnpike very well. Now i never hear bucks and chester and the turnpike. I am wondering if my scanner has an issue or its a county thing. I have replaced my 800 antenna with negative results. Any help would be appreciated.

Many agencies have switched to Narrow band, try to reprogram the channels to narrow VHF and see if it's better.

I heard all the things you listed from willow grove cclear as day on a pro 96

I tried reinstalling bucks with arc96, but still no luck. As far as the narrowbanding, I'm not sure how to make those adjustments.

I have programmed a lot of radios including a couple 96's. IMO it is susceptible to loose bnc connection onto the circuit board. But since I also had inquiries to the 96's reception I know there a LOT of previous message threads on the same issue as this one. So just use the search option here for this link -

Try tuning in your local weather station. IF you hear them then maybe the systems you want to listen to have changed something. If not, then it is a radio issue.

Well, I just hit the wx button and hear nothing. It just looks as if its scanning the wx channels.

Did you hear them before? Might not be close to your area.

I never use the weather button, but I'm pretty sure it worked before. I'm trying to figure out if i want to put money into the pro96 or upgrade to the psr 800. I gotta talk the wife into it.
