I have had a Radio Shack Pro-96 scanner for a while now. I like to listen to it when I am on my computer wasting time and winding down at the end of the day. I have found a program called vox recorder that will record the audio as the scanner scans based on a minimum input level, which is nice, because I can listen for the good events around town.
I also found the Spectrum Commander IX software which looks like a dream. it not only records the audio, but also controls the scanner and saves the frequency with the audio so you can sort later and have multiple frequencies active.
One rather small glitch... it doesn't work. I downloaded and tried the Win96 software and have made a backup and that worked great. According to the Spectrum help files, once you set the serial port the scan should work.
any pointers, tips, help? I am using the trial version for now, and will buy it if I can get it to work.
thanks in advance
