I 'think' it will work only if the 2 EDACS systems have different LCNs

System 1
LCN 1
LCN 2
LCN 3

System 2
LCN 4
LCN 5
LCN 7

i dont have a 97, but ive heard on some scanners it helps to put a conventional freq between the two systems.

What you're thinking of works on Motorola systems on many of the GRE made scanners.
For EDACS & LTR systems, where the channels must be entered in the correct LCN slot, inserting a channel would, at best, have no effect, & could throw you out of synch at worst (meaning it would not work).

Unless the two EDACS systems used entirely different LCNs, no overlaps/duplications in the numbering, it's not going to work. Not sure how well it might work if there are no dupes/overlaps (have never tried it).

EDACS in PRO-97

I agree with everthing hiegtx posted. In addition keep in mind that unless you want to hear "everything", each system would also have to have its own unique Talkgroup IDs.

However, in thinking this over, why is it such a big deal to FORCE two EDACS systems into ONE bank? You've got 10 banks - and surely you do not have 10 trunked radio systems programmed. I've got 2 MO systems (each in separate banks) and an EDACS system (for when I travel to that area) in another bank which is shared with conventional frequencies. In other words, you are better off to program 2 separate banks, with 1 EDACS in each, and fill it out with related conventional frequencies.

Good luck
