Pro 97 white noise

I can turn on my scanner and it will work with no problem untill someone talks. After they are done talking all I hear is white noise I had this problem on my pro 94 and I believe it to be the antena connection. I am just wondering because this scanner is less than 6 months old is this a problem that has been noted by radioshack and is there anything they will do becides tell me to buy a new one. Do I need to just tell radioshack to piss off and get a better quality scanner?

You should have a warranty period with the receipt. Look on the back of the manual but scanners used to be a year.

Where is your squelch set? If it's set too low it might cause something like that to happen. I dunno.

Ring out your squelch and see what happens. If it still does it, take it back, providing you still have your recipt.

That was it YAY I did not realise that the squelch made a diference on this scanner.

squelch should make a difference on all scanners. Glad you got the problem fixed though
