Jerry first of all put a better antenna on the pro-107, the stock one is not the best. Mine wouldn't pick up as yours until I upgraded the antenna, not it works super. As far as the batteries go I have 2700 mah ni-mh and with the keypad light off and the LCD light on constantly I am getting 8 hours minimum. I've ran my pro-107 side by side with my PSR-300 and my Pro-137 and my BC346XT. And I can assure you the the pro-107 isn't missing anything in the receiving department and it sound better than all three other scanners. Take your time with the software, it really is good stuff. It just takes sometime to get use to and properly use and enjoy.

Question is it possible to save one or more configurations as can be done with win96 ??

Yes, After I saved the configuration to the SD card, I made a new directory on the card and gave it a name that describes the configuration I then copied all of the files from folder "CDAT" to the new location. I can then go back to that configuration at any time by copying the files back to "CDAT"

Also battery life sucks with or without backlight.. I get about 4 hrs on 2500

I get at least 8 hours on the Radio Shack 2100mAh NiMH bateries .

Managing the playlists using the software is a whole lot easier than in the radio, Even more so if you have different parts of a trunked system in different playlists.

Yes, I put the 800 Mhz scanner ant from RS on it and it is better.. I think the State Police issue id they have migrated to 700 Mhz Digital and the old system is still listed as they have it for backup during the transistion.. I was listening to the old system... No activity..

Some batteries are better.. I am concerned there is no mobile power cord or any way to run/charge except the included cable.. I cannot find any other cable, odd plug is used..

Not sure I understand the process at first look... I will look at your instructions and see if I understand... Thanks for your help...

Also I find there are several errors in the Radio Reference library I have some Mutual Aid and Tac channels in my handheld 2-way that are either wrong or non existent in the RR Lib.. I will have to find the talkgroup IDs & try to enter that way..

I want to use the scanner in my bedroom as a station alert so I only have the actual call channel and do not have to hear all the yakking of other channels at night.. I do not always hear the pager, but I will hear dispatch if I can get all this sorted out...

Thanks
Jerry

What I need is another cable so I do not have to take the ONE that came with the scanner.. I may be in one of several vehicles and would like one to leave at home and one to travel..

Radio Shack stores have not seen the Scanner, much less the micro size connector

Never shoot a messenger who has a good heart LOL... I think RS rushed this thing into the maket with too little last minute bug-checks...
1... It misses TOO many transmissions, not noticed unless another scanner is present.. Last night, the entire twice fire dept daily radio check was skipped and not heard.. An EMS dispatch was not heard until the responding unit acknowledged.. I live in aa area heavily saturated with signal. Motorola does a reliabilty survey anually. None of my other units ever miss a call..

2..battery life is poor-- I go to sleep with NEW batteries fully charged and it MIGHT make it through the night.. Very limited traffic so little drain from audio section..

3.. Oddball connector that so far cannot be found.. Presumably why the cost of cable is so high, they can get away with it if no one else has it..

4.. no key lock, too easy for a bump or touch to set skip or turn off playlist a real PIA if you are handling the unit..

5.. No case or way to carry another PIA

Most of all I cannot trust it to receive... I am using it for response, not as a toy or hobby.. I need to deend on it and I cannot..

Nice idea to have all the info in it, but it is not ready to be on the market in my opinion.. I will likely return it for refund

Thanks to all

You have to order the adapter any time you see a item from RS that has a #8 number Catalog number it always has to be ordered. Less than #8 the stores carry the item..
