I have a SDS 200 and am trying to scan the new P25 system. I am getting good signal on Claysville but i am not locking on to any T/G's and when it does there is no voice. I can hear on DSD+ just fine so maybe i have a setting wrong. Any help would be great.

Thanks

It's probably Service Types not being turned on. OP is probably seeing sites, not talkgroups.

While on the topic of service types, do they have to match the data base ? For instance if I manually enter TG 12345 and assign it to service type Fire Admin but the data base has it assigned as Fire Talk will it still be received ? In this case all service types are activated.

You have to activate whatever service type is listed in the database or favorite list for the channel to be active.

You can assign any service type you like.. But it has to be enabled to be received.. DB or FL.

Are you using location control?
I'd create an FL (If not done so already) and disable location control for the FL. Your local location setting may exceed the ranges of the departments/TG's on the system.

The TG's you do see flash by are likely PSP and 100% enc so the scanner just skips it and continues scanning.

I'm quite surprised this wasn't mentioned earlier :ROFLMAO:

I am also having trouble with Penn Dot. The Monroeville Section in Allegheny County (I haven't heard them in a month). Some have audio and some do not. Four second recordings and longer with nothing. Not just keying the Mic as people are answering them. 13xxx TG's
with no Audio and like 1 second recording, I am pretty sure these are ENC.

On the subject of the state system, do you have to fill in the trunking tables base freqs ect as this is a multi band trunking system??
Unitrunker displays several band plans ; VHF/800 ect.. or will it do it automatically?
Thanks

All of the newer Unidens will get that info from the control channel. All you need to do is fill in the frequencies for each site (and LCNs for DMR and NXDN systems) and the scanner figures out the rest automatically.
