For those who may have the experiance. I'm programing a radio and was wondering if there would be a significant difference in battery life if I enable compander and beat shift?

Beat shift is for intermod and compander is for better audio quality in case you wanted to know.

BTW~ Could compander be used in wide band?

every radio mfg is different. my suggestion would be to try it one way, and see how long it lasts, then try it the other way, and compare the two times, then compare the results. i have done that on occasion when testing TX power, RX power and how they relate to batt life. play with it and see what works best for you.

If the batt life is short, you can always buy spare batts and/or a rapid charger.
