programmed in all the frequencies

I got a Radio Shack Pro-97 scanner. I've programmed in all the frequencies for the Delaware State Police for New Castle County but yet I'm hearing the data channel but get no audio. I can see the system identity at the bottom of the scanner. Any clue what I'm doing wrong. I've setup the scanner to work with other trunked systems in the county but I'm only having problems when setting up the Delaware State police trunk system. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Also as well, when a talkgroup becomes active I can see it at the bottom of the scanner but yet I still only hear the data channel noise.

Is the DE State PD system Digital? I think it is APCO-25 and the PRO-97 won't decode digital signals...you need the PRO-96 to decode. I think the system has digital and analog Talk Groups

If the system is NOT digital then did you set the bank to MO, did you enter the frequencies in "red and blue" as MO and not CONV ???

If the other systems you entered are working OK then the DE State PD Talk Groups are probably Digital.

Hello,

The PRO 97 can TrunkTrack, but cannot decode APCO CAI P25 Digital Audio. All Talk Groups on the State System are DIGITAL. You will need a PRO 96/2096, Uniden BCD396T/BCD996T, BC296D, or BC796D. Or, if you wait a few weeks, GRE will release their new scanner: PSR500.

I think it's the coolest thing. Yesterday I was listening when that guy got hit by the school bus and all the fire departments moving and organizing to move to the location. It's crazy and I can see how the county spends all that money doing this stuff.
