doing it manual takes some time if u got a usb cables there is software to load systems in to the scanner a lot ease

Where are you? I'm in Waterloo Region. I have a 396XT which I understand to be very similar to the 996T at least in terms of software and functionality.

If you use FREESCAN you import your 396xt files into your 996T.
The only things that's won't transfer are the NAC codes if you are using them. All the freqs will upload
