What's the Micro USB port on the back used for, and the USB A port on the front used for? Never seen so many ports on a scanner before.

They're saving one of them for the waffle maker.

I hated the "Type A" and "Type B" designations or names we had to learn in the early USB days. Those are still used today.

Clearly the consortium is also debating and they have naming scalability issue to worry about as USB standards evolving, which no one can foreseen especially back then.
