Programming CFD into 396T with Freescan HELP

Really need help in correctly programming CFD digital into 396T using Freescan. I seem to have it working but 2 problems keep occurring & they are annoying as hell, (1) 3-5 sec. buzzing sound before most transmissions on FD & EMS & (2) during quiet periods I'll get this sequence of beeps that sound like morse code also on both FD/EMS. Neither of these things happen on my Radio Shack scanners, it is driving me crazy & I have to turn it off because I feel like tossing it across the room. I program it as conv. P25, nac293, mode on auto, don't know what else to do.

Have both 396XT and 996XT, not experiencing those issues and have them both programmed the same. The "beeps" you mentioned sound like a repeater identification. I'm suspecting it's your location and you're getting some overload. You mentioned NAC code of 293 which is correct, but that feature isn't available on the 396T, so i'm assuming that' just a mis-type and you have a 396XT.
