I recently purchased the Icom OPC-478UC cable to program my IC-V82 using my computer. When I run
the CS-V82 software I get the following error "No Answer From Transceiver". The radio is on, the cables are connected....all the things it suggests I check. I was wondering if anyone out there can help me. I'd like to be able to program the transceiver via computer since I bought the cable etc.
Oh yeah, the program assigned Com Port 8 to the transceiver if that makes any difference.

On the Programming screen, you will see along the top of the page
File View ComPort Clone Model Help
Click on the ComPort selection, & a pop-up screen will show
Com 1 Com 2 Com 3 Com 4 MORE
click on the MORE, & another pop-up screen will appear, giving you
com-port choices from 1 to 256.
If your program has already assigned itself to port 8, enter 8 in the
box, & try that.
Also make sure your Model selection is correct..VHF & not UHF

Yep, have the port set to Com 8......

Then you may have to just start with ComPort 1, & work your way
down through the list until you find something that works.

Someone that is sharper with a computer than I am, may have a better way
to locate a ComPort match. I'm willing to learn a better way.
