Programming IDs on HP-1

Can someone clarify for me about programming IDs on the HP-1? I know if you pay for the software upgrade you can add IDs from the unit itself. However, with out the upgrade (straight from the box) could I add additional IDs from what is listed on Radioreference.com?

For example, If City X has Fire IDs for Dispatch, Tac-1, etc but I have an ID for let's say a training ID could I add that from my PC to the HP-1 without purchasing the software upgrade?

Also can I use a MAC to program the HP-1 or is it Windows only?

I am probably misspeaking (lol), but I thought the "paid" upgrade was "firmware" and the "software" upgrade was "free". I got it all (happy camper) so I wasn't paying too close attention.

If I am reading your question correctly, you are asking if you need to get the Extreme Upgrade or can you program using Sentinel without it.

I believe you can just use Sentinel and program the channels you want and send it to your HP without the Extreme Upgrade.
