BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Programming issues with the 436HP

I just received my 436hp the other day and I am having issues trying to program the darn thing. I used the sentinel software and set up my 5 favorites. I set preferences for the fav's with alerts etc. I transferred the info using the cable to the scanner/ But when I try to scan with it, I get the" nothing to scan" message. Only way to scan is to enable the nationwide database which of course has way more on it than I want to listen to. Any step by step instructions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Navigate to "set scan selction" in the menu. There you can set what to scan. Obviosly, it helps if you have FL quick key

Actually, that selction will be in the "manage favorites" option
