Hey all. Hope things are good.

I'll be travelling through and staying a night in Orillia tomorrow.

With FleetNet 1.0 no more in that part of the world, looks like Fire and City Services are pretty much the only things left to monitor with my BCD 436HP.

Am I correct in (given the fact there is one freq. and different TG's listed for Dispatch/Tac's) assuming Fire is basically a OFT/single freq DMR trunk?

Would that be the best way to set it up with Sentinel? If I just add the channels to my favorite list as is from the DB, don't think TG info transfers or anything like that.

If it is indeed an OFT system, have always wondered why those are not put in DB or transfer to the Sentinel software that way?

Thanks in advance folks.

Orillia is part of Zone 1 / Central Region OPP.

For fire, forgive me as I don't have my scanner in front of me, but yes, DMR one trunk frequency is your friend here. Set up the "site" as the correct frequency and colour codes. Under group put the talkgroups / slot channels.

Turns out oddly enough, Uniden actually has a helpful page for once on it, though somewhat hidden;

Programming a DMR One-Frequency System

If you want to follow and/or alpha tag specific talk group/slot combinations on a DMR frequency, then you must program the frequency as a DMR One Frequency system.
The following is a supplement to the Owner's Manual. It only covers the settings that are unique to a DMR One-Frequency system.

  1. MENU --> Manage Favorites --> New Favorites List or select existing --> Review/Edit System --> New System --> DMR One Frequency
  2. Edit Site --> New Site --> Set Frequencies --> New Frequency
  3. Enter the frequency, then press E.
  4. If you want to limit reception to only transmissions on a particular color code, select Color Code Option, then Set DMR Color Code and set the color you wish to use.
  5. Repeat for additional frequencies (rare for DMR One-Frequency Systems).
  6. Repeatedly press MENU to return to the system menu, then select Edit Department if you wish to program Talk Group/Slot Channels. Otherwise, select Edit Sys Option and set ID Search to On.
  7. Select New Department --> Edit Channel --> New Channel
  8. Input the TGID.
  9. Set TDMA Slot, then select Any for either slot, 1, or 2.

As for why Sentinel can't do it, your guess is as good as ours. Best to take a look at ProScan, combined with your RR subscription will detect DMR OFT imports and ask if you want to make a OFT setup for it. And then do yourself a favour and uninstall Senintel.
