You all seem to have a handle on how Sentinel works. So here is my question.
I have programmed a BCD436HP with green shield Sentinel. I noticed that the scanner is not picking up a fire-tac talk group which is part of a department I appended. (As my other scanner was picking it up).
If I have appended a department which includes the talk groups I want, do I need to be concerned with selecting the service types in the edit profile menu? Thank you for your time and feedback.

Yes, each respective service type needs to be checked here in order for it to pick up traffic on those tagged talkgroups

Thank You. As I can also surmise the other service types I want need to to checked as well?
Yes. The service types for any channel or talkgroup you want to monitor must be enabled. You can enable them in your profile in Sentinel before downloading to the scanner.

When shipped, and also when Sentinel is first installed, only the Dispatch service types for Public Safety are enabled (Law, Fire, EMS, and Multi). But you also need the Tac & Talk service types, especially for Law & Fire, so enable Law Talk and Law Tac, as well as Fire Talk & Fire Tac. Do the same for EMS & Multi.
