Hey all! I'm trying to program a SJ County system into my scanner for a trip down to Stockton this weekend. I'm having some trouble understanding how to do it, though. I notice that in the database, there are quite a few channels with the mode listed as P25, but also include a frequency. If I'm not mistaken, that means that it is a P25 non-trunked system.
When I created a new system using FreeScan, I selected "P25 Standard (Digital XT)". This is all fine and good, but FreeScan wants me enter a TGID, not a frequency. I'm thinking that I need to create a conventional system and set the mode to Digital Only. Is that correct, or am I missing something here?

As always, thanks in advance!

The freqs listed on the main page aren't a trunked system. They are conventional listings.

If you are using freescan, just import the freqs and it will do it for you.

On Freescan choose new system and pick conventional (or a conventional system to add to) (on the new one you may want to select the xt p25 wait time) then you should be able to enter the frequency, and select Digital only in the audio type

Thanks! One more question, though. What do I have to do with the NAC's? Do I just ignore them?

You could enter them or ignore them. It doesn't prevent you from monitoring.

a NAC is like a PL tone for digital freqs.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.4; en-us; DROIDX Build/4.5.1_57_DX8-51) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Everything is working well, except I'm getting breaks in the transmissions. It almost sounds like a really quiet, soft squelch opening every second or so when someone is transmitting. When this is happening, the signal strength indicator dissapears.
