Project 25 Phase II TDMA modulation

I prog my bcd996t to a trunker that is Project 25 Phase II TDMA modulation and its picking up grops no prob why is that and the sound is ok

Because the talk group is operating in phase 1 mode. Many systems are capable of both phase 1 and phase 2. Some are configured to be dynamic depending on the capabilities of the affiliated radios.
The RRDB will list the system as phase 2 if it identifies as capable of such, even if the groups are phase 1.
