That's a permissions issue. Navigate to the folder where you installed the program, right click on the PSREdit500.chm file, and then select Properties. Near the bottom of the window that appears, there should be an Unblock button. Click this option to unblock the contents of the file. The help file should then work.

Mike
Thank you Mike that fixed the issue.

Retirement? Ohhh Boy

Life is hard for the retired these days.

That's because we're paying for retirement funds (when we did work) for public service people, state, federal, utility companies, etc. Most of us who worked our @$$ off in life did so with the best intentions but never got a dime out of it once we *retired*. If you were lucky enough to work for those companies/agencies who offer REAL retirement then you at least have a shot at living decent once you can't work anymore. As for the rest of us who worked equally as hard as those guys did, that's where *we* get screwed. Apparently there are many who feel it's "our" fault for not demanding to work in a field that could tell the People how much they will pay for the services you offer. We chose to work in something we liked to do in life, or worse, something that actually helped others. And for that we get almost NOTHING when we can't work anymore :( But there are those who use whatever social security they do get merely to buy whatever radio gear they want, while the rest of us are just trying to feed that bad habit of ours of breathing in and out.

Yeah, yeah . . . I know. Let's get back to the issue at hand. I'm sure we could ALL contribute something here if we got started on what retirement really means for most of us.

Just FYI -- the reason there's no free software is because they won't release the specifications to how to program the radios. Otherwise I would have done it by now.

Let's not stray off into the social security/retirement debate here, guys :)

Thanks!

Possibly because software is an accessory for the 500/600. They can be used without software. On the other hand a 700/800 without software would be like a car without a steering wheel.

Because those radios cannot be programmed by hand. They require software to do that.
