I am monitoring this system on the PSR-500: http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=3296

I have a problem, TG 0-08-008 unmutes for like a second when it starts talking, then it mutes back, while my BC246T is still talking on it. All other TGs work just fine, so I know it can't be programming. I put the LED alert on for it, and when the TG mutes back the LED turns off (while the BC246T is still talking). After talking for a second, the S-Meter still stays on full bars even though it doesn't talk. I analyz the system, go to LCN 8, and hear the TG talking with the display holding on 0-08-008. Anybody know what's going on?

I have seen my PSR-500 do this a few times. I suspected it might be that I didn't have all the proper overflow channels (in addition to the home channels) entered into the system. Finding the home channels on a system is easy. Finding the overflow or additional voice channels that are not home channels in a system is a whole lot harder. This is a question best answered by one of the techs at GRE.

The problem is that, my BC246T is programmed the same way, and it tracks that talkgroup just fine. They always talk on the home channel, because I have another radio that I have set to conventional on that frequency and always hear them on that radio (with the blips from the LTR controller). I may have to call GRE.

When your radio unmutes on 0-08-008, do you still see the "T" indicator on in the LCD display. If the radio does not detect the data for one second, it will mute and continue scanning.

It blinks on and off, but mostly stays off. Other TGs on the same system talk fine with the T staying on. Do you know why this is happening? When I analys the system and go to the home channel, it shows that ID but the T still only blinks.
