I just went through my copy of the manual last night with a printout of this thread and edited it. It would be very helpful if future postings included more detail on the location of the error than just the page number.

I found another typo:

Page 11, last line: "confused and frustrating users" - missing "for" before "users."

Writing a manual for something as complex as a scanner is not an easy task. Writing software for the operation of a scanner, especially one as complex as the PSR-500 is also not easy. Mistakes will happen in both, and that's just human nature. That doesn't mean that they were in a hurry to get the radio or the manual out. If they waited for both of them to be perfect, they would never come out...

Yeah - ask Microsoft about Vista.... :D

With all the mistakes in the manual, it makes me wonder how many mistakes are in the scanner. Seems like they were in a hurry to get it out. ???

Well, we can start a thread for errata on any manual and when you have this many "editors" involved looking for errors, we'll probably find just as many on all of them.

The scanner works great and it has a few problems just like any other recently released scanners. There's a firmware update coming out soon to take care of that.

Have we forgotten already all the issues and *****ing with the Uniden scanners when they first came out???
