Ok folks, after 2 days of back and forth emailing, with Troymail, he's managed me and instructed how to program my PSR600. Using PSRedit.com, he was able to send the scanning lists for my area in south central Pa. This took several attempts trying to use WIN500 software as well as PSRedit. One note with WIN500 software, I was able to get their temporary license ok, however I couldn't complete the actual "Download to Scanner" part due to "unrecognized drivers" in my software. WIN500 has a link to be able to update the necessary drivers. I tried to and downloaded the correct link for my system software on my PC.I then tried it again, to "download to scanner" what he sent me, and got the same error message. I went back to PSRedit and after a few clicks on the correct method I was able to successfully "open" the scanlists, then, "download to scanner" and Voila! Radio Reference site has a lot of resources - links to firmware upgrades, user comments, etc. I used PSRedit to install my scan lists but there is a learning curve with all of these programs so it's not like you can just go in and see how to do it. I'd still be banging my head on my desk stumbling through this and probably would've chucked this scanner out into the snow we just got yday, if not for the efforts of Troymail! His persistence and patience with me were impeccable. "Swipesy" said he was the best guy to have doing this and he is correct! Thank you Troymail! PSRedit works best with me, but he likes WIN500. There are others so don't get too discouraged if one is not working. Anyway, long story short, I am back scanning and listening to something I now "used to do for a living"...firefighting, and can keep up with my old mates to see if they're behaving!
