Hello,

I was wondering if the PSR-800 had an Easter Egg like the PSR-600.

Enter 446F6E53 (the ASCII hex values for 'DonS') for the flash pattern when editing an object on the scanner. It should occur when the last digit is entered and the flash pattern value does not have to be saved.

I wonder if it also works on the newer Whistler scanners based on the PSR-800. (WS-1080, etc...,)

I don't understand this. I tried entering 446F6E53 in the PSR-800 and it's not doing anything. What is an "Easter Egg"?

Ha. Yeah, I saw that. It works on the WS1080. @Homeboys-Scanna- it's a hex color code you enter for the flash alerts. On the scanner you can scroll to browse objects, pick any object in a list to edit, push the menu button and scroll to the FLASH Pattern setting. The color HEX code
446F6E53 goes in there. Then the (Egg) plays. ;0)

So to keep me from having to do this on my 668 or 800, what does the Easter egg do?

Thanks.
I figured something like that. Too bad it was not something useful. Don has been very useful in a lot of the softwarr. I you would think it would be an undocumented good feature.

Ha. Now that's interesting. So, how on earth did you manage to find this? And are you saying this "Don" is some real person? Who is "Don"?

Don Starr is the guy who developed the firmware & programming software for most recent GRE/Radio Shack/Whistler scanners....the guy behind Starrsoft.

He sure is.

Just knowing his background, would have expected that his "surprise" would have been a valid feature of the radios instead of just a joke only.
