Near Burn in Texas
Has anyone purchased a scanner from jet.com?
They have the 436 for $410 with free shipping.
I haven't found a deal that good anywhere else, but I know nothing about this vendor.
Thanks,
Ed
I've never heard of this company. I learned the hard way and nearly forfeited around $500. I believe it is always good practice to buy from authorized Uniden Dealers.
I once bought a digital scanner from another manufacturer, GRE. I bought said radio through SBH Corporation. I found them through a Google search. Yes, the radio was sold at a discount, but buyer, please be aware.
I should have known better than to purchase a radio from a company that sold Harley Davidson Parts and Fender Guitars. The name of this dealer was SBH Corp. It was located in Brooklyn.
To make a long story short, I sent my radio in for repair. I had owned said radio less than a year. I called the scanner manufacturer to see if my repair was ready. The representative told me that it was ready to ship. However, during this conversation, he noticed a "C" in the serial number. He said, "we are going to have to reverse the repairs on your radio. We cannot fix it." He told me that I had purchased a Canadian model. Hence, it did not have any FCC tag on it.
I called SBH Corp and kindly threatened them. I told them that they sold me an illegal radio. I was stunned when he told me to send it back to them and they would replace it with a USA model. I was very lucky. They kept their word.
So, I thought you might find this interesting and amusing. Always check the dealer out.
