just downloaded the IZ8BLY Nino Porcino Voice Descrambler and i put the 1/8 inch plug into my scanner and then ran it into my sound card. to the line in and then to the microphone jack and they went 10-95(scramble) and i still heard the scramble and also the high pitch that the program makes when it is just sitting there. Whats wrong? I've tried going up and down on the freq level and still nothing? Any Ideas?

Are you sure it's speech inversion scrambling and not something else? If it's digital encryption like DVP or something similar, you'll never decode it.

umm, the best i can tell you is that if you run the program and use a mic and talk into the mic and set the freq to 5000 thats what it sounds like.

Is that even legal in the US?

No! It isn't. Did you get it from Boys Life - the same guys that sell those X-ray vision goggles and levitation devices? Or maybe from the friendly scammers on Sleazebay?

I'm here a lot
looks like you are experimenting with something people have a "problem" with ...

perhaps people can private message you with replies than discuss this openly. ;)

well i thought about buying the Speech Scrambler/Descrambler Kit from Ramsey and i was wondering if you have to cut and melt some wires to get it to working, or can i use my 1/8 inch cords i have? I have a scanner and a amp i want to run it threw. Is that possible?

He'll get the message (or stop ignoring it) when the FBI knocks on his door. [vbg]

I don't see any issue discussing it but don't expect to get decent support about getting something illegal to work when it doesn't. For something like this it's TS if it doesn't.

When I tried it I didn't have an issue. I left it at the default value. There are other more complicated versions of speech inversion, which you may be encountering. Or it may be encryption as others have suggested. If it's actual encryption it normally sounds like an open carrier with a beep at the end. Speech inversion sounds like there is a voice there but it's more "donald duck" sounding or a waaa-waaa Charlie Brown teacher sound.

This thread, along with many in the past, was closed before for a good reason justinlp. Don't push it.

I use a progrram made by IZ8BLY that is used by ham radio receive and transmit digital modes such as PSK31, RTTY, Packet and many more modes. But none of them are to decode scrambled radio transmissions.
