Hey everyone, I have a Uniden BC72XLT, is this any good for picking up freq's in the GTA? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially any freq's for Toroont Police, EMS, and also TTC.

Thanks!!!

There are freq's here that your radio will receive.

Your scanner does have it's limitations as it only receives up to 512 mHz.
Have a look at the WIKI pages and read up about trunktracking scanners.
It is the only way to listen properly in the GTA.

I didnt even realize that, thanks for reminding me mciupa, you cant really listen to anything in the GTA with that scanner, no Police, EMS or FD....or TTC for that matter

Thanks guys! One question, what is a scanner you would recommend to me to buy to get things like TPS, EMS, etc. I actually have managed to get some TTC/taxi's freq's but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This one is compact and loaded with desirable features.

OPP,MTO Enforcement and MNR are digital and will require a BC-296D ,but at considerable
more cost.

Yep, one of the best non-digital radios around and a nice price too. Also with a small donation to RR and the Butel software, you can link up to this site and program systems in seconds. Sorry I let mine go, miss it every day.
BTW welcome to the board.
