ihi....got my ic5100 set up. didnt put the x50 diamond up yet but using a tram mag mount sitting on roof,rubber roof. just sitting there using it for now. diamond x50a going up.... anyway....my scanner is sitting on my desk with a telascopic antenna on rear of radio. when i transmit on ham.....the scanner picks it up. screen on scanner says "found"....then u hear interferance....bc355n scanner. txs all.

Are you transmitting in D-STAR? If so your scanner won't decode that.

You are risking damage to the IC-5100 transmitting with that antenna configuration. A mag mount needs a steel surface for proper impedance.

Because you are seeing the "Found" message on the scanner's screen it makes me think you have the scanner's Close Call feature turned on.
