I think this scanner has the perfect balance of features... I plan on purchasing one for both of my parents in the Va Beach, Norfolk area.

It is easy to program by hand.... once you get the hang of it.

All told I'm very pleased with this scanner.

It isn't too difficult to program by hand. The copy and paste feature really helps, but man, I really can't wait for Gommert to have his software for sale.

I think it's not hard to program by hand, but like so many existing scanners with mega-channel capacity, it's really hard on the unit and the hand muscles. For the $30 or so for software, that's DEFINITELY the way to go. No, I don't know about that being the exact cost, but that's about how much I would expect to pay for a good piece of SW - ala Win96.

The learning curve on the 246T may be a little more steep due to the new way of programming things, but It only takes a couple of new systems to get the hang of it.

Features? Are there EVER enough??? :shock: :wink: 8)
