ProScan: Questions on using proscan

I had a few questions.... All this is for the sds series I had proscan for awhile and haven't got around to figure out all it. I couldn't find the tab for edit color display screen to change colors for each box. I also didn't see where you can edit the Fire Tone Out. I think I got the rest down from adding tg to rid and systems to dept and sites. @ProScan are you all planning to add on tools section for convert dec to hex or hex to dec? I may have more questions on using proscan down the road.

Proscan does not have any options to edit the screen options. I personally think this is a very much missed feature. You have to edit the colors in sentinal (which I absolutely hate) and import the hpe(?) file into Proscan to view the colors on the screen.

I dont use FTO so someone else will have to chime in there

One day they'll get it. I'm trying to test this recording option on certain tg or rid on a analog see how this works.

The Profile editor is addressed in the Frequently Asked Questions.
ProScan doesn't have a profile editor as it would be 100% duplication that couldn't be improved on so I could spend time in other areas.
That being said, it's on the list.

Don't need to import anything. Just edit the display in Sentinel then tell ProScan to reread the profile file for the colors to update.

I was testing out this recording option. I went to main system and went to the drop box hit marked channels. Than I went to UID and check the box to record. I don't have the tg box check. I don't see no recording yet. Does the recording only work in digital mode? Or am I missed a step?

Recording works in both analog and digital. What type of scanner?

I haven't really delved into a lot of what ProScan can do either but I did get it at the beginning of this year. I am legally blind and it's not very easy for me to see a lot of stuff with the fonts on the screen so that is one thing I want to look into when I have a little more time. I know there are some really cool features the program has but I have a lot to learn and hopefully will over time. Heck, I haven't even put my second copy on another computer yet.

The one thing that has bugged me is how I lose connectivity if I let it run a few days with my SDS200.If I'm plugged the USB cable and plug it back in then it will find the radio again and I can set it up again. But this happens too often and I just haven't found a topic on it if there is one on rr.com.

But back on the topic of screen color, is there a way to change the log screen color and/or fonts? I could swear I saw that in the past but I have a difficult time locating it now. And can the colors be changed on columns and rows and on the borders around various sections within the program itself. Not on the scanner but on the software I'm talking about.

I personally think it's a lot easier to manually change the screen color on your scanner, at least the SDS series scanners I'm talking about, and it can be a little time-consuming. I have to do it with a magnifier but not finally got mine set up manually through the radio and then saved it using Sentinel. I did not realize that ProScan did not also save that data. Hopefully over time it will and there will be a way to view it on the PC screen and decide if it works good or not. I've noticed some of my color schemes on the scanner need to be improved for my vision / lack of vision.

I can tell a ProScan is a great program and I'm learning new stuff about it quite often just from these threads.

Yes if you're using ProScan to the the recordings. USB and audio cables are needed. No if you're using the scanner to do the recordings.
The sds100 is not connected to computer or proscan. I didn't see no Rec pop up on uid. I'll try to do more testing tomorrow.

The USB serial port data shouldn't loose connection. The only time it will do that is if the computer reboots and that is an issue with the driver to scanner communications. Nothing can be done in ProScan. ProScan will poll the scanner and doesn't receive an answer back response.

Some of the logging grid colors are hardcoded in ProScan and some are hardcoded by Microsoft so I don't think that's doable. Win 10 will also increase the size of the program.

It's Just one driver. If it happens intermittently then I would swap out the USB cable to see if the problem goes away or at lease, reseat the USB cable.

{edit} If using a USB hub then connect it directly to the computer and see what happens.
