R1500/R2500 Freq Reference adjustment

I had an opportunity to look over an R1500/R2500 Service Manual and adjusting the Freq Reference (and other alignment parameters) is accessed through a simple keypad sequence (no service software) so that is welcome news on servicing these receivers down the road!

As for the PCR1500 and PCR2500 that have no supplied front panel that raises an interesting question about how one would accomplish the same with them?

.......reference frequencies to drift off center and this causes problems with reliable data channel decoding.

From a service standpoint does anyone know what can be done in the future with a similar situation with the newer PCRs? I am certain it's all software driven as well.
