GRLevel3 won't run if your system clock on your PC is incorrect by more than 5 minutes. He has an app on his site which will correct that. It is named grtime.exe. Get it and run it and it will fix your system clock and then the app will run. Get grtime.exe here: Grtime

To change sites, use the menu at the top or click on one of the adjacent sites if using the latest release.

You won't find better radar software than this one unless you spend many times more money on one.

Gibson Ridge Level 3 is still the better product, even if it costs $80 (one-time fee).

I've been using it since its early beta release and won't change. I have tried them all, including the newer "high-definition," etc. versions.

I now have a copy of the Level 2 Analyst Edition and it's as close as I'll ever get to an AWIPS station....

Use whatever works for your needs. GR works for me and our SKYWARN program.

I'll agree that GRlevel3 is probably one of the best programs i've used as well. If you can get past the cost of it, its definitely worth it. A bit of a learning curve though. For the free-o route, definitely Wunderground

And it's LIVE! It also automatically updates every 360 Seconds.

NEXRAD / NWS radar is NOT live, it's updated every 4-10 minutes depending on the mode it's in...

It's not "live" and it doesn't serve the purpose that sjc started this thread for.

Again - no question - if you are serious about radar, spend a few bucks and go with the GRLevelX software.

If you are looking for a program like GRLevel3, check out swiftwx also.

Swift is interesting, but it's not at all like GRLevelX software.

Just did the free trial for GRlevel3, had some severe thunderstorms here in N. Tx.

We used to use weathertap at work, that was about 4 years ago and I like that as well.

I like all the little things GRlevel3 does, the zooming features etc. I will need to do a little more playing with and researching to figure out all the capabilities. There is many things on there I have no idea what it is.

Overall I do enjoy using it, hopefully we will get some more bad weather before my trial is up. If not I will go to a location with bad weather and learn more about the software.

With the latest update to the software, they added some great features to show rotations some other features. You can visit their trial forums and learn more about the features and what it has to offer. I only wish I could find some more resources to learn more about how to interpret a radar loop, detect wind from a radar loop, etc. I would love to get into the level2 and AE software but I feel its over my head a bit right now.

I was an avid wunderground user as well as weather tap. After learning about GRlevel3 software, I havent looked back.
