Hey, can anyone help me with picking the best radio for East Hants?
I want to listen to EHS,Fire and RCMP.
Also programming is a concern, I am capable of learning but cannot devote a lot of time to it.
In most cases is the stock antennae adequate?
Thanks in advance.

I would look at the Uniden Home Patrol 1. It will scan everything you want and is easy to program. The scanner some with programming software that will update it's database from the RR database (updated weekly). Also gives you some flexibility to add additional frequencies.

That said, most of the newest scanners enable software programming, however the initial set up can take some time and would probably need a RR.com premium membership. It would save a lot of time.

I have the HP1 and love it.
