One of mine is up on 20' of Antenna Mast and 5' of PVC. It's survived 50 - 60 mph straight winds, as well numerous thunderstorms with associated gusts.

As TeRayCodA can attest it gets windy in Oklahoma.

I'll see as I get closer to installing it. Honestly at this point I can only loosely figure out the mounting point and grounding setup. I have two roof lines side by side. An upper roof with about a foot or two of exposed wall down to the top of the lower roof. I have to find some sort of brackets that will attach to the wall and probably to the ridge end of the roof to securely hold the mast. If I use just the wall I have to get brackets that will clear the roof line and I suspect they will be too close together to securely hold the mast. I think I'll have to get one that will mount on the wall an done on the roof edge. From there mast size will have to clear the roof line BUT also look ok from the street.

As far as weather I too get some 50MPH plus winds with the added bonus of flying branches....so we'll see. Hopefully it will be worth the effort. I'll also have to figure out the grounding/weatherproofing setup later. Again hopefully it is worth it. It's so simple and easy now I'd hate to do all of the work for very little gain.

Those(20-176) antennas are pretty rugged, there is only about 20" on each vert, horizon element, not a whole lot of wind resistance, plus I have had mine iced up before, but not any weather problems.

Plus,the radial dia.are about 1/8",so,a lot of flex,too.

I have mine 30ft on the side of the tower.Fed with RG-6.
They are a good low profile monitor antenna(if low band is not a priority) I have also tuned one of these to transmit on MURS.
A couple of weeks ago,we had some 60-80mph winds for several hours here, and all of my stuff survived.

Thanks...I'll have to start researching mounting bracket options for the mast.
