When using the Radio Shack software to program a system it seems like the software puts all the frequencies in instead of just the primary/secondary control frequencies. Is this a normal thing to do or am I missing something?

Not sure about the 668 but the software for the PSR 800 and PRO 18 have a check box in the import screen to import CC and secondary CC only.

Where is that option located? Is it a check box somewhere?

On the Library Import tab (along the lower right of the iScan window), there are 2 check boxes on the left side. Top one is for, "Replace channel name (Alpha Tag) with information from the Library." It is checked by default. Second one says, "Import primary and alternate control channels only for Motorola and P25 systems." It is not checked by default and if you don't check it prior to import, it will do what you're describing.

I tried to do a screen grab to properly illustrate this but apparently my 'puter skills aren't up to it.:(

Library Import Option

Ok, I see how to get there. That seems even more confusing. You have to select standard import and then it will give me those options. I usually scroll down to city or county type.

Here is a screen shot and I see no option your describing??

You have to click "Update Channels" first and then you will see it. Sorry I forgot that step. I wish I could get my screen grab to work, I've done it before but it won't work for me today.

You aren't importing the whole library into your scanner, you're just importing it into iScan. You can choose state, county, etc without loading the whole shebang onto your scanner.

And yes, it's confusing, until you get used to it. Once you've used it awhile, iScan isn't too bad to use. Not WIN500 easy, but not bad.

A very lucid explanation of a pretty opaque piece of software! :D
