Radio shack Pro-83

Someone gave me a Radio Shack Pro-83 (model 20-501).

The Scanner Instruction manual is dated 2004.

The manual states the radio is programmable using the Interface cable (#20-289), and RS programming software.


Unfortunately, the instruction manual only says the programming software is available at RS, and does NOT specify what software.

A search of the current Radio shack website does not turn up any mention of this scanner, programming cable, or programming software.

Does anybody know where I can obtain these?

the Pro-83 is very EZ to program by hand. what are you wanting to monitor?

Here is the software that the manual is referring to: RadioReference.com - Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference but is the same as our ARC83 software.

Years ago, I used to use Load83 which was free software to program my Pro-83. Worked well and I could make and save several different files for the areas I was visiting at the time.
