The PRO-20 (not PRO-20A) is listed in Sams SD-15 published in 1979.

Unitcharlie,

Darn, I wish I still had some of my old crystal controlled scanners. I'd sell them to you. I had four for a while, now the only one I still have is a 4 channel VHF Midland I bought at a Western Auto in Tucson AZ in 1976. They had them (mistakenly) on sale for $19.95. I got the last one. Don't use it often, but as my local FD is 154.400, I do have a crystal for it and use it on rare occasions.

Sold my other crystal scanners in 1991 at a garage sale. Just didn't need them and the (now) ex wanted them out of the house.

Other than that, my oldest scanner is a BC-100 16 ch programmable. Still works though the display is nearly unreadable.

i appreciate that... and the ex problem.... i had three of the pro 20's i used as back-up's then (the four police freqs on one, the fire folks on another, state police on the other one).... they received better than the earlier progammables... when the local fire department and a nearby county went trunked i let them get out of my sight. i would love to have one at the house to monitor the hometown folks (all vhf) since there are only four important freqs (ems/county fire/city fire/police) i need at the house....

Thanks for all the great informational replies! I am not interested in selling it at this time though! Does anyone know where I can purchase the crystals for it?
