Hello,

I recently purchased a BC296D from the USA. It was shipped on February 7th, and still hasn't arrived. Is this time frame the usual when recieving items from the USA, or should I be worried?

Thanks

Where did you order the radio from? Dealership, Ebay, or a personal transaction.

If I was buying a radio from the States I would definitely pay the extra amount of money and get it EXPRESSED overnight or 2 day delivery.

I would definaely start trying to find out what happened to your radio

I have purchased several electronics items from the US of Varied prices and some have arrived in as less as 3 days while others have taken up to 3 1/2 weeks. Some arrived at no cost and others with a bill for GST. Seems to be no set pattern...

my 250d came from illinois and it took its sweet time getting here. On the customs sheet thinggy, they received it 2 days after the transaction (off ebay) finnished, and i didnt get it until about 3 weeks after that. I started to get worried, but it all worked out in the end.

Ask the seller if he has the shipping receipt or information... depending on how you paid for it you might get your money back. I've been ripped off on ebay before, even paying via paypal... seller made fake online tracking numbers with UPS, and sent them to paypal and paypal accepted them. I was screwed. I called up my credit card company, explained to them what happened, and they just did a charge back to paypal ;) got my $400 back too.

But back to your radio, have patience. Those customs characters like to fiddle with electronics and such make sure they arent something dangerous.

Can't say much about the border thing but it sounds more like the seller, I ordered a commercial radio here in the states off eBay and it took something on the order of 10 business days to get to me. The seller was a little off on his statement on 'when' it was supposed to arrive, so I would definately call him or her and get a tracking # for sure as sometimes they transpose even those #'s and then you have to call them a second time to let them know what a dumbasses they are. eBay is not for the faint of heart.

Well I got a package in the mail today from the eBay seller. I bought a BC296D and I recieved a BC250D. No digital card included. I'm starting to get angry.

That sounds alittle strange, I bought my BC785 from scanner master on Feb 15 in the afternoon and recieved it Feb 18. Just amazing service from these guys. Talk to Rich Barnett, great guy to deal with.
Gives you tracking number as well, and the scanner was held at customs for only a few hours

The price must have been to good to be true. What can you do at this
point ?

Never buy electronics off EBAY. (or anything of value)

Your experience proves that statement.

Yeah, I'm not too happy with my eBay experience so far. The price was on par with most other BC296Ds that were for sale at the time. I have contacted the seller and am awaiting a reply. Hopefully this was just an honest mistake.

Hopefully, the guy was also selling a 250 at the same time and got them mixed up. If not, I'd go after eBay to chase these types down and deal with them. It would not be in their interest to let this happen and shrug it off, not to mention yours. Although never have bought anything off eBay, I'd be less inclined to do so after reading this. Perhaps eBay needs a way to guard against phony tracking numbers (from the other case) also.

Hey guys

Lets not give a bad name to sellers that are good on Ebay. I purchase lots of (electronics) from sellers on there and the equipment-service was terrific.
If seller does not contact you soon, email ebay to tell them what happened and they will go after them. Please don't hesitate to put the sellers name and info on here to let us Know.

Sorry about what happened!!!

Thats true. There are really good sellers on ebay. When I bought my first scanner off ebay it was a bc7 or soemthing like that... then i bought a bct8, then my bc250d. I went back to the same seller all three times :)

karenw7777 is the seller. Has some good deals on scanner stuff.

I'm sorry to hear that buddy sent you the wrong item, you can usually find their contact info on ebay, and call them..

What is the sellers ID? Hopefully he has good feedback and will come clean on his mistake?
