radioshack scanner?

does anyone think this scanner will work, its 49.99 but looks good

This scanner will do a great job on the railroad band. I have one (along with many others). It is small, easy to program and very sensitive. Even though it says "racing scanner" it works great for railscanning along with police, fire, etc. I would suggest getting a replacement antenna like the Diamond RH77CA for much improved reception. The stubby antenna that comes with it is not so good. $49.00 is a pretty good deal too!
