Hello:

I just purchased the 436. I'm monitoring AAR 16 & 23 but get this continuous load hum. Sometimes it sounds like an actual transmission but it's getting blocked out by this interference. Wasn't happening on my 396xt. I've made sure I'm setting the freq. to NFM and "Railroad" for service type. Any ideas?

Thanks much.

i had a situation once when my scanner was sitting very close to the laptop the scanner would start to have a loud hum like noise. when i would close the laptop it would stop. so if your scanner is close to your computer try moving it 3 or 4 feet away. other than that i don't know.

Yep. Those are the freqs. I have but I'm good on 161.04. I'm getting the (what sounds like interference) on 160.35 & 160.455. I think I can almost hear voices but they are drowned out by the loud hummm. It's a sound I haven't heard before.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Are you familiar with what NXDN digital sounds like over analog? Usually a low, rumbling/rushing type of noise.

I'm not actually. But why would I receive this kind of transmission on the 436 but not my 396? Thanks for the education.
