I can do some logging in Ottawa area if you tell me what sites exactly you want me to look at. I could do some near the end of the month to see the key change over

It would be helpful to nail down the UNKNOWN sites, at least to know if they can be monitored in Ottawa or Quebec. Sites names on this whole group would be a bonus. We know of the existence of Site 148 which is missing from the list, but don't know the control channel frequency.

I see that site 144 is also in the Ottawa area as well as 142. I am not sure if those are a North/South configuration, or if one is at the Airport..

With today's massive submission with correction and site names, I feel it is time to move this thread to the Multi-Province forum. It will re-direct from the Ontario forum for the next thirty days if you happen to look for it in Ontario.

Since the site menu is becoming huge, remember you can always sort the menu by county by clicking on County.

Example: RCMP/GRC Trunking System, Nationwide, Multi-State

This may help you find places closer to you to monitor. After that return it to numerical order by clicking on the Site heading.

It also appears that Ontario uses a TG 1xxx and Quebec is using TG 3xxx.

Logging the system is the main target right now. Many many thanks to the Quebec member who supplied all the new and updated site information.

I am using DSD to log the system. DSD provides not only the TG and ALGID/KID but more important the P25Data file provides the neighbor list. This list will contain the primary control frequency for any neighbor sites. The list also often shows un discovered sites. Post #187 is a example of this information for site 108. DSD will also work using a discriminator tap for those who do not have a SDR.

The TG are in the .groups file. Often this file will contain TG that have been affiliated to but may not be active on the site. KIDs have to be located the hard way by reading the .event file. So far it appears that there are 5+ different KID groupings.

For anyone who does not have the time to filter their files I will be happy to do so. Anyone can DM me with the files or questions. The filtered information will be submitted to the DB.

Monitoring Site 103 Ballantrae and seeing a neighbouring site listing as 102 on 421.1125, which at this time is unknown. Tuned over to 421.1125 and got a good signal. There is a talkgroup (1225) trying to register to the tower which I have marked as King City as I have only seen it on the King City tower.

It looks like TG 3306 is the main TG used in the Ottawa area. TG 3309 is a close second. 3306 may be the French equivalent to TG1017 in Ontario.

I have not been able to get any of the Unkown sites yet. I just started logging RCMP sites in ottawa a few hours ago so I could get the key change over based on end of the month like previously mentioned.
Right now I see KID 1011 and 1012 being used. (site 144)

I am right beside site 144 (Chateau Royal) I just setup to do a daylight monitor today from this site. To whom wants I can share the data grabbed. Tomorrow, just tell me what files are needed and I will share.

I am a beginner at SDR'ing and DSDPlus Fastlane. How do I enter my GPS coordinates in DSD+ without screwing up DSD?

Assuming you use FMP24 on start up

Go to the FMP24 .cfg file.
Edit the search range, choose kilometers or miles
select a radius of your choosing for; search distance
put in your decimal GPS co-ordinates for ; search origin

I'll have to do this later do not want to disturb DSD for now. It is scanning the RCMP tower at this time.
